Power companies are not able to save electricity like water. It is delivered by demand. I personaly cut my energy use in half. I use lights as I need them. Most of the time I am still in the dark.
I also have to make sure I order 101 gallons of oil or propane or I may get hit with a surcharge. This was allowed by our energy commission. A birdie told me it slipped through the cracks. We had alot attorneys working on this and was not caught for some reason. Our tax dollars pay for govermental oversite. I and other people who live on a limited income now have to adjust. Electricity, fuel, and water are now a necessity it is not a Luxury any more. The goverment needs to have more oversite on the companies. Not for goverment to deliver it. For the heat I make sure my tank is full set my temp at 65 degrees. I also have alot of blankets to keep warm.
Thank you Mr Fontana for your wisdom. Being part of the energy commision. We are paying up the wazoo. Now people will be sufferring making payments to the utilies that you thought were going to help the every day citizen. This is a failed policy as you stated Being part of the energy commission you allowed things to be rushed into the bills with no oversight.

We've sealed all windows and doors, added insulation to our attic (still scratching from the fiber glass), and closed off sections of the house where we can controll the heat in that zone separately. Furnace is tuned up and we have a small wood/pellet stove in the family room. I am determined to keep as much of that 7.5k in my family's pocket this year as I can.....uuugggghhhh!!!!
